Pinewood Dog Shop – 1-Year Health Guarantee

Pinewood Dog Shop’s Health Guarantee is designed to give you absolute peace of mind and confidence in your decision to welcome a new member into your family. We are committed to providing healthy, well-bred puppies and to supporting our customers through the puppy adoption process.

Initial Vet Visit Requirement

Within 10 days of receiving your new puppy, you must take him/her to a licensed veterinarian for an initial examination.

If your veterinarian determines within that 10-day period that:

  • Your puppy is clinically ill, or

  • Has died from an illness or injury likely contracted before the date of sale/delivery,
you are entitled to the following options:

  • Return the puppy for a full refund

  • Exchange the puppy for one of equal value, or

  • Keep the puppy and receive reimbursement for reasonable veterinary expenses, not exceeding the purchase price

Note: These options do not apply if Pinewood Dog Shop has already disclosed a health issue in writing and provided a valid veterinary health certificate at the time of sale.

1-Year Genetic Guarantee

If within 1 year of purchase, a licensed veterinarian diagnoses a congenital or hereditary defect that:

  • Adversely affects your puppy’s health, or

  • Results in the death of your puppy

…you will again be entitled to the above options (refund, exchange, or partial reimbursement).
To qualify:

  • You must notify Pinewood Dog Shop within 2 business days of your vet’s diagnosis.

  • Include the vet’s name, contact details, and a signed letter on the vet’s official letterhead describing the diagnosis and confirming it is a genetic defect.

  • Failure to provide timely notification will result in forfeiture of your guarantee rights.

Important Notes & Buyer Agreement

By purchasing a puppy from Pinewood Dog Shop, you acknowledge and agree to the following:

  • You are responsible for arranging a vet check-up within 10 days of receiving the puppy.

  • This initial visit ensures the puppy is healthy and addresses any issues potentially caused during transit.

  • Pinewood Dog Shop is not liable for illnesses contracted after the puppy leaves our care, including exposure to high-risk environments or infectious dogs.

  • Puppies are not to be exposed to public spaces or unknown animals until the full vaccine series is complete—treat them like newborn babies.

Pre-Delivery Care by Pinewood Dog Shop

Your puppy will:

  • Be examined by a licensed veterinarian prior to delivery

  • Be issued a valid health certificate

  • Receive at least their first round of vaccinations

  • Be de-wormed, though follow-up de-worming is required after pickup

Please note that deworming is an ongoing process in all young animals. Exposure occurs every time the puppy goes outside. Continue worming as recommended by your vet.

Genetic Defect Coverage

If a vet-diagnosed, life-threatening congenital or hereditary condition is discovered:

  • The original puppy must be returned to Bentley Pet Store

  • A replacement puppy of equal value will be provided as soon as available

You must submit a signed vet statement, including full details of the condition, and the vet must be open to a follow-up conversation with Bentley Pet Store for verification.

Limitations & Exclusions

  • Pinewood Dog Shop is not responsible for any veterinary bills not pre-approved under the genetic health guarantee.

  • This guarantee is null and void if:

    • The puppy is resold or rehomed

    • Routine vaccinations, care, and proper housing are neglected

  • Buyer assumes full responsibility for ongoing vet care, feeding, and safety from the moment the puppy leaves our possession.

Immunisation Responsibility

All vaccines listed on the puppy’s shot record have been administered under our vet-approved schedule.
It is critical that:

  • You continue with your vet’s vaccine schedule

  • You do not duplicate or miss shots, which can be dangerous to the puppy
